A note from our Founder, Amy Helgren

After 37 wonderful years, it is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement. Since 1987, it has been my great pleasure to serve you and your families, providing a curated selection of designer children’s clothing, toys, furniture, and accessories, and creating a welcoming space in the heart of Chicago. A heartfelt thank you for your support over the years. I have loved seeing your children grow with every visit, and it has been an honor to be a part of so many special moments with your families!

As I step away, I am thrilled to introduce you to Daisy in her new role as the owner of The Second Child. Daisy shares our passion for affordable, high-quality, sustainable children’s fashion and is excited to continue the legacy of the shop. I am confident that Daisy will bring new energy and ideas while maintaining the quality and service you’ve come to expect from us.

It is my sincere hope that The Second Child will continue to be a treasured destination for you and your families. I look forward to hearing about the new adventures that await you all from Daisy.  I will be happily watching from retirement what will surely be a successful future for our shop!
